MKIV R32, EOS, Touareg, A3, and Audi TT Bushings Now Available!
Finally - Replacements for the problematic OEM VW intake manifold shift rod bushings – in most cases theres no need to buy a replacement shift rod!
These bushings are sold in sets of 2 to replace the 2 bushing rods - if you have the very early 99.5 model year with the even more pathetic 5 bushing rod, you need to buy a 2 bushing rod to use these.
The OEM bushings wear quickly and become the source of loud rattles you hear during acceleration and deceleration. The worn OEM bushings will quickly eat your plastic intake manifold, and cause expensive repairs.
gruvenparts.com Intake Manifold Bushings are thicker, made from more durable material, and most importantly, geometrically designed to maximize surface area contacting the intake manifold. Our bushings are made using CNC equipment with very tight tolerances as a matched set. The set up and programming times are extensive.
Please note, if your VR6 has been rattling excessively, you may need to replace the plastic intake manifold. The GruvenParts.com bushings should still be used in the new manifold to prevent this problem from occurring again.

After some light sanding on the intake, the bushings, some WD40, and the right choice of curse words, i was able to get mine to finally(and forcefully) slide into the intake. After talking with Paul he made it clear that the fitment was supposed to be a very tight squeeze as it its to prevent future rattling and noise. The only reason I have given 4 stars and not 5, is a little bit of forewarning on a piece of paper included with the bushings would have been helpful. I'm still overall very happy with these bushings, car is nice and quiet and the cross-over at 4k is now more distinct and the intake is now more throaty and aggressive.

Thanks Jon I appreciate the review. Yes the tight fitment is crucial to prevent rattles. Im glad you got it sorted, as always call me with any issues. Take care and let us know what else you need!

I have a 12V VR GTI that has had a rattling shifter rod since I got it. The rattle was so intense I could easily hear it in the cabin. After doing some research I was under the impression I would end up buying a new shifter rod and manifold due to wear. I took a chance and ordered these alone to see how much improvement these would make, and it is 100% rattle free. Install was easy, I used vaseline to lube all of the bushings and contact points. Good product, I would definitely recommend to a friend.

Just purchased an 04 Touareg V6 Jan 2016 with 95k miles. We found a slight rattle from the intake manifold when getting on/off the throttle. After a couple searches, I came across these bushings as the most likely culprit.
Ordered them up, followed the supplied DIY, and SHAZAAM!!! No more rattle.
THANKS GRUVEN PARTS!!!

I notice the noise of the bushings right before the timming chains kit was replaced, it wasn´t very loud and comes after 2000 rpm´s. Anyway, with the shifter rod bushigs guide that is in your page I replace it myself, no problems, the noise after 2000 rpm´s disapear. My 2001 VR6 is now 115,000 miles. I am satisfied with the product. Thanks a lot.

Installing shift rod with new bushings on shaft was pretty easy didn't have to file cut edge of bushings. Used deep
socket to tap shift rod into manifold after 1st position bushing slid right in.No more noise. Motor has130000 n 1st set was way over due for rr,they cam apart as I pulled rof out. We'll see how long these last. Thanks Paul.

I had a rattling sound coming from the intake manifold and when I installed these everything works and sounds smooth. They had to be forced in just a bit but I assume that is good, they won't move around. They feel very sturdy and I could see these never getting worn out.
