Ditch the heavy 1 lb clutched alternator pulley in favor of this billet aluminum version designed using high tech CAD software and crafted on one of our CNC's to reduce the rotating mass and get every last hp out of your engine. Our version weighs 5 times less than the OEM pulley, and because its made on a CNC has a total runout of less than .001"! All this means a smoother and quiter engine that revs quicker off idle. Comes complete with high grade nut and thrust washer. Installs quick but please follow all Volkswagen installation instructions.

Lightweight Billet Aluminum 1.8T/2.0 Tensioner Pulley
Plastic may have made the bean counters at VW happy, but it has no business as a tensioner pulley on your high strung VW motor. Ours is extremely light weight and contains a precision 20K RPM SKF bearing that will perform more quietly and far outlast the OEM plastic pulley. Installation is a breeze – simply release belt tension, remove the tensioner pulley bolt, and swap ours in. Note - the torx bolt loosens counterclockwise (normal bolt). Please follow all Volkswagen installation instructions for installation.

Lightweight Billet 1.8T/2.0 Non-Underdrive Crank Pulley
Lose the boat anchor of that OEM steel crank pulley with this 230 gram lightweight billet aluminum version. It is the lightest crank pulley out there and will allow the engine to spool up faster while reducing inertial losses caused by the overweight OEM pulley. This pulley is NOT underdrive and will therefore not underdrive the alternator and cause charging problems. For underdrive applications, check out our specially designed underdrive power steering pulley below.

Very well made part, it’s a shame it can hardly be seen when installed. I am not of plastic engine parts!!I am going to buy 3 more for both of my Golf R’s and Tiguan. Easy upgrade!!

Took a while to get here with the pandemic, but it was worth the wait. Correspondence was top notch. (Thanks, Paul). With the SKF bearing, this pulley should last a lifetime.

Purchased this pulley expecting it to be good but was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the product. Very solid pulley with great finish. Putting this on an ABA/16v conversion so will be ordering the ABA idler and alternator soon.

First of all I want to.say thank you Gruvenparts for your service. My crank pulley was shipped extremely fast and for the price it is in my opinion the best crank pulley you can buy on the market. These pulleys are truly Extremely lightweight durable, and look amazing!. You can definitely feel the motor climb faster throughout the power band! Thank you. :-)

Thanks Gruven Parts for a stout pulley. Shipping was fast and the piece will soon be on my 1.8t. This clean, sharp pulley will be quite a step up from the plastic pulley from the factory.
